SuperDogs Sports Center In Simpsonville, KY is offering a 10% discount on a basic obedience training class for any dog adopted from Shelby County Humane Society! Just bring your adoption agreement with you to receive the discount. Training classes are once a week for six weeks. Now, when you get your groceries or gasoline at Kroger, you can help the animals at the Shelby County Humane Society and it won't cost you a thing except a few minutes of your time. Buy a Gift Card for $5.00--it comes with $5.00 already loaded on it, ready to spend. Take it to your Kroger store and load it with the amount of money you usually spend on groceries, then use the card to pay for your groceries when you check out. Kroger will give $.04 of every dollar you spend to the shelter and it won't cost you a thing! Then reload for the next time you shop! Gift cards are good at any Kroger store.

We are always in need of your time, supplies and financial help! But here are a few of our most needed items, our WISH LIST:

  • Cleaning supplies (bleach, mops, brooms, paper towels)

  • Dog & Cat Treats
  • First Aid supplies
  • Chew and play toys
  • Kitten & Puppy milk formulas (good dates please)
  • Dog & cat brushes and combs
  • Old rugs, blankets and towels

Here are a few of the volunteer jobs within the shelter that we are always looking to fill:

  • FOSTER PARENTING
  • People to help clean the shelter.
  • Do adoptions both at the shelter and the stores.
  • Someone to do presentations at schools to help develop an educational program for our community.
  • People to get info to the press, public service announcements, event announcements.
  • Help with fund raising events.
  • People to answer the phone.
  • Someone to set up bulletin board displays.
  • Spend time with the pets socializing.
  • Bathe and groom the animals.
  • Help apply frontline, clip toenails, brush and give medications.
